Sunflower has a very high need for the content of nutrients in the soil in a form available to plants. Depending on the hybrid and area of growing, for the formation of 1 ton of crop, sunflower absorbs the following amount of microelements: 87g of Zinc, 173 g of Manganese, 50-70 g of Boron, 20 g of Copper.

Depending on the hybrid and area of growing, for the formation of 1 ton of crop, sunflower absorbs the following amount of microelements: 87g of Zinc, 173 g of Manganese, 50-70 g of Boron, 20 g of Copper. Microelements help to increase quantity and quality (oiliness) of the crop. However, plants cannot always absorb the necessary nutrients from the soil. To eliminate the deficiency of microelements, pre-sowing treatment of seeds and foliar feeding with Agrohelat fertilizers are carried out.

sunflower feeding program

Changes in the feeding program are developed by the representatives of our company individually, based on the real needs of the plants on the farm. The following is taken into account: processing methods and the level of fertilization of the soil, the content of nutrients in the arable layer and the amount of the planned yield.

Pre-sowing treatment of seeds with Agrohelat Multicomplex fertilizer (3 l/t of seeds) due to the presence of nutrients on the seed coat allows to obtain better field germination and a more developed root system of plants. It increased resistance to stressful situations and action of herbicides.

The appearance and formation of the sunflower head are important phases of the development of sunflower plants for the harvest, because at this period the formation of the whole quantity of flowers that will be inàa the plant takes place.

The formation of the initial sunflower head occurs very early, in the phase of 4-5 pairs of true leaves. During this period, it is necessary to such conditions for plants, under which their full growth will take place. Since the root system is just forming, foliar feeding with Agrohelat NPK Plus (1-2l/ha) and Agrohelat Boron (1l/ha) fertilizers will be very effective.

In case uneven, weak and thin shoots or a very poorly developed root system are diagnosed at the phase of 4-5 leaves, treatment with Agrohelat Amino Max (0.5-1l/ha), Agrohelat Start (0.5l/ha) and Agrohelat Boron (1l/ha) is recommended. These preparations containing plant derived amino acids and auxin type growth regulators stimulate cell division which increases plant growth and development. They also give a strong start to the growth of the root system of plants.

The main amount of Boron (70-80%) is absorbed by the sunflower in the phase from 6 pairs of leaves to the “star” stage. Feeding sunflower in the phase of 6-8 pairs of leaves with Agrohelat Boron (1 l/ha), Agrohelat Multicomplex (1-2l/ha) and Agrohelat Zinc (0.25l/ha) will cover the plants’ need for nutrients completely, which will stimulate the formation of roots and contribute to the setting of more flowers in the head and the formation of the rich harvest.

Growth and development of plants in the phase of setting flowers (10-12 pairs of leaves) greatly affects the future harvest. Foliar feeding with Agrohelat Multicomplex (0.5l/ha) and Agrohelat NPK Plus (1-2l/ha) will provide plants with necessary nutritional elements.
